Philippa Jupp, a teacher from London, spent a terrific 10 days at Tigmi, relaxing and rejuvenating during the summer holidays.

I went to Tigmi at the start of August for 10 days with some friends and their family.
It was an incredible holiday that I will never forget. Tigmi is such a fantastic place to relax with friends, have some drinks, and share some great food – and there is all of this in spades!
It has a very calm and relaxing atmosphere during the day time, sitting amidst a traditional berber village, bur during the evening Tigmi has a really great, fun atmosphere too.
The hotel has an amazing spa and is only a short journey away from the Souk which is always a great trip! There is always something to do; but it is also a fantastic place to relax and watch the world go by. Would strongly recommend to anyone.

One of the most wonderful things about Morocco is the culinary experience. And the range of restaurants in Marrakech covers all budgets and appetites – whether your taste buds crave traditional Moroccan flavours or something a little more familiar.
And it’s not just about the food – there are many experiences to be had in Marrakech: You may be looking for a casual night in the square, a romantic evening for two, an authentic of Moroccan meal followed by some belly dancing, or something a little wilder.
So with that mind, we’ve compiled this definitive guide to the best restaurants in Marrakech. After all, everybody has a favourite place in the city, and we’ve written this guide to help you find yours.

We thoroughly enjoyed being a reasonable way out of Marrakech. There was a feeling of being among the real people of Morocco and a walk to the nearby Kasbah was a fascinating experience. The locals seem friendly and the children ever-optimistic with their ‘Bonjour – dinars?’ One can only feel affection for Tigmi itself. It is full of delightful architectural nooks and crannies. Its florid courtyards offer peaceful shady retreats and the views from its terraces keep you gazing out across the hills and villages, listening for distant sounds like the shout of a shepherd or a grumbling donkey. The staff at Tigmi, smilingly unhurried but thoroughly obliging add to the general sense of douceur which pervades the place. We also found the food simple but excellent.
